Fourth of July Celebration Events
5K Walk/Run & Kids FunRun

Winners are announced at the Flag Raising Ceremony. Results are posted on Facebook and the website. Entry forms here or register online at
Flag Raising Ceremony
At the Fourth of July celebration events, members formally raise the American Flag at the Clubhouse. We pause to honor those who protect our country and freedom, past and present. After singing our National Anthem, everyone encourages the kids on the FunRun before scattering to decorate carts for the Road Parade.
Road Parade
This event has been popular since it began in 2008. Golf carts, UTVs, classic cars and tractors get an entry number and decorate on a theme of their choosing. The Garfield Twp Fire Dept escorts the parade around the lake and cash winners are chosen by the judges. Entry forms are available on the Forms & Documents page. See Event Records for winners.
Flares on the Shoreline
The Fourth of July activities have a relaxing finish around 10pm when a lone skier travels the shoreline signaling it's time to light the flares on your waterfront. The lake is quietly aglow during this summer night tradition. Flares are available at The Boat Doctor on Partridge Ave.
Other Events
The Association usually sponsors a concert or two each summer, and a family movie night with popcorn on blankets under the stars on an outdoor large screen. Other events have included BBQs, and monthly "Meet & Greet" gatherings from 4pm-6pm and topical workshops at the Clubhouse & Pavilion.
Fish Stocking
The Association has a long history of stocking fish in our lake. Funded by member donations; up to 80% of the funds received annually may be used to purchase fish. Stocking is typically done in October. The species and quantity selected each year for planting depends on funds, species availability, cost and the needs of the lake. Stoney Creek Fisheries & Equipment, Inc., has been our supplier for many years.
Since the opening of the DNR Boating Access Site in 2009, our lake has qualified for the State's bi-annual fish stocking program. 30,000 spring fingerlings (2") were planted in June, 2011. The volunteer "bucket brigade' of fish planters is a small but vitally important activity to get the new fish evenly distributed around the lake.
