    A Note from the Chair

The 2010 Water Quality Report was recently received from LakePro, Inc. following the sampling which was done on June 16th. Although the results are very good, there has been a steady increase in the levels of Nitrates and Phosphorus in the lake. Click here to view the report. Also, the lake treatment map for the June 16th weed treatment is now available online. Click here to view the map.

Folks had a great time at the July 4th events, which were held on Saturday, July 3rd. Our sincere appreciation goes out to the entire Entertainment Committee for their efforts in planning and organizing the events!

Margaret Sopchak and her assistants are currently busy preparing for the Association Garage Sale, which will be held at the Clubhouse on Friday and Saturday, July 16th and 17th. Be sure to visit the sale and take advantage of the many bargains available.

The Clare County Sheriff Dept. informs us that a number of utility trailers have been stolen in this area. If you own a covered or open utility trailer, please store it inside or out of sight. They believe thieves are using these trailers to haul stolen items out of the area, possibly to downstate locations. Regarding updated flood plain maps for Clare County and Garfield Township, FEMA has announced that the maps will be completed sometime during September. The County and our Township have 12-months to formally adopt the changes. However, our Township Supervisor, Bill Scott, anticipates they will likely be adopted by the end of December, 2010. Keep cool during these hot days!
